Bio

Soul musician Daniel de la Rocha has been obsessed with R&B music since he heard his first Sam Cooke record at the tender age of 7. Ever since that day he has been searching for his place in the music industry.

He spent his formitive days coping Muddy Waters and Hendrix on his strat. High school afternoons were split between the soccer field, learning classical guitar from the legendary Frank Kimlicko, and sneaking into downtown blues jams. Before long his sports career gave way to his musical aspirations and he eventually attended Greenville College earning a degree in jazz during his tenure there. While there he studied guitar with renowned jazz fusionist Frank Heyer and acclaimed producer composer Michael Johnson.

Then de la Rocha began producing hip hop tracks for several St. Louis, Derrty ENT. artists, all the while playing original material on the weekends along the famed Delmar music strip.

After his graduation de la Rocha returned home to his beloved Texas, and began playing lead guitar for several touring country groups to pay the bills. It took two years for Rocha to realize that he should leave the hired gun role behind and venture out on his own. Delving back into his roots Rocha’s music has been described as beautiful blend of Soul, R&B, Funk, Pop, and Blues. “Underdressed but not Under Duress” is now available for sale at upcoming appearances. Daniel is also available for private guitar & music theory instruction, studio guitar work, live work, private parties, weddings, etc.
